Guidance should be offered without lecturing. Teens should be made aware that you understand their pain and trauma instead of just addressing the same as a minor problem.

There are counselors available in schools along with the private counselors. The word counselor is used instead of the term psychologist or psychiatrist because it is a less denotes a person who is not imposing.

The school counselor is the ideal person to solve the problems of depression due to non performance in studies and sports. They also speak to the teachers and parents of the student so that the problem can be solved as a joint attempt and the child can be prevented from getting into chronic depression.
